The students in the art troupe celebrated the 94th anniversary of the University with their music and dance in a concert held on the evening of April 23.
Formed in 1958, the Student Art troupe has a total membership of 848. The troupe is made up of multi-specialized groups, namely, the military band, the traditional instruments orchestra, the choir, the philharmonic orchestra, the dance group, the drama troupe, the keyboard instrument band, the ballroom dance group, the traditional Chinese Quyi team, the Beijing Opera theatre group, and the painting group.
The troupe strives for advocating classic arts and spreading Chinese culture. In 2004 the troupe gave more than 60 performances on and off campus, and won 12 first place and second place awards in a number of competitions.
