A friendship match between the UC Berkeley Tennis Team and the Capital University Student Tennis League Team was held on the tennis court on May 31 at Zijing Student Dormitory Area.
There are five games in total, including both men’s and women’s singles and doubles and mixed double. Both teams’ splendid performance attracted many tennis fans cheering and shouting well done throughout the games. Berkeley won four games and the Capital League led in the men’s single.
The Berkeley Men’s Tennis Team, led by head coach Peter Wright, currently holds the No.31 ranking in the United States. The Berkeley Women’s Tennis team, instructed by head coach Amanda Augustus, is currently ranked No.6 in the latest Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) poll of NCAA Division I collegiate women’s tennis teams.
The Capital University Student Tennis League Team comprises 12 students from Tsinghua University, Beijing Sport University and Beijing University of Chemical Technology. Under the coach of Mr. YIN Zhao, Ms. XING Yu and Ms. LIN Yaming, the team has triumphed in many national and Beijing college students tennis tournaments
